And here we are, hitting publish to the first blgo post of 2019 with a mate in hand 🙂 The holidays were never a very happy time for me, yet I can’t help but feel the magic in the air and the desire for celebrating this new year. I know it’s just a change in the calendar, but I still like the idea of making balances and feel like we “start anew” once 1st of January hits.

I won’t get too philosophical in this post; for that we have last week’s post about my learnt lessons from 2018. But I do want to share with you some numbers and top 10 with you.

The Blog Stats

Reading Challenge

I didn’t read as much as I would have liked this year. Keep in mind that in that count of 28 books, there’s the re-reads of the Harry Potter ones which count up to 13 books. That leaves us with barely 15 new books.

Still, in 2019 I want to make it my goal to read 24, all new, books!

Top 5 Books of the Year:
1. Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen.
2. Introduction to Foucault, by Edgardo Castro.
3. 14/7 trilogy, by Pamela Stupia.
4. Song in the Silence: The Tale of Lanen Kaelar, by Elizabeth Kerner.
5. The Curated Closet, by Anuschka Rees.

What I Plan to Read this 2019

The troublesome thing about going through my “want to read” tab on GoodReads, which has over 400 books, is to decide which books I want to read this 2019 — I know I’m not alone when I say that sometimes you go through those pages and find “nothing to read”, just like when you have “nothing to wear”, hahahah.

Can’t wait for you to write a review on all these books. Especially the book “Philosophy for the digital age” sounds super interesting.
Also, at the end of 2019 you should compare your current blog stats (Dec. 2018) to the ones from December 2019 😊😊

I actually finished that book the 1st of January! I did a review on GoodReads in Spanish, but I will post about it soon on the blog of course 😀

“Also, at the end of 2019 you should compare your current blog stats (Dec. 2018) to the ones from December 2019”.

Hi! I came across your blog at WishWishWish and I’m in love! Soy brasileira y estoy siempre leyendo blogs, hehe! In 2018 my blog was somewhat abandoned because of uni (I study Law and it turns out to be VERY time consuming) and work (bills to pay!!$$$$$$). I have just published a new layout for it and hopefully that will give me an extra motivation to keep posting. I’m also working on a book list for 2019 and I think I’ll steal some titles from your list!

Estoy encantada con su contenido <3

Feliz año nuevo! Hope that you'll be able to grow your blog even more!

I haven’t seen your previous layout, but I really love the one you have right now! Especially the colors, it stands out 🙂 Do you have a GoodReads account?

Happy New Year to you too! ♥

you won’t regret reading Fashion Theory by Valerie Steele. I based mostly of my degree thesis on that book!
also the foucault ones are pretty damn cool when they talk of the panepticon…ohh so many memories! By the way great choices!

Omg, now I really want to start reading Fashion Theory! But I’m really trying to read not more than 2 books at once, and I’m currently on The Courage of Truth, by Michael Foucault and The Ice Princess, by Camilla Läckberg. I’ll surely start that once once I’m done with one of these!
